I am not sure what this disc really is. It's defiantly a compilation but it seems to be some type of record industry promo album. It's not a pirate because Mercury and Universal had something to do with it.

DVD

This is an excellent package, which contains two DVDs jam-packed with materials, including a complete live performance from her Fight Tour. There are music videos, galleries, dicography, clips from various concerts, and just tons of other stuff. If you are a DORO fan, you simply must get this set; you will not be disappointed.

Doro Pesch (Dorothy Pesch), the German born rocker, started singing with metal bands at a very young age. She fronted bands such as; Snakebite, Beast, White Witch, Stormwind, Warlock, and of course DORO. Warlock experienced incredible success in Europe and some minor victories in the United States. Once she took on the moniker DORO, she made lineup changes and the music and song writing improved immensely. I am not trying to take anything away from Warlock, they were a great band. However, with DORO the music is more structured and obviously sounds updated, if not a tad commercial.

Don't let the Metal genre fool you, this angel has a beautiful voice. Her vibrato style of stinging vocals can sound desperate and intense on songs like 'Terrorvision' and 'I Rule the Ruins.' However, when you listen to her ballads, the course layer is peeled away and her warm, tender side is showcased on songs like 'Constant Danger' and Alles Ist Gut.'

Through her travels Doro has managed to build a reputation of 'Metal Queen.' Her counterparts such as Lee Aaron, Lita Ford, and Joan Jett claimed to be the queens of metal. In my opinion, Doro Pesch is the true queen of metal. She has stood the test of time and still manages to put out quality recordings. She made her way back to the United States to tour with DIO and Yngwie Malmsteen in 2000 to support Calling the Wild. I look forward to seeing what she comes up with next. Maybe she is like a fine wine and improves with age.

In her discography, I would suggest Calling the Wild, Angels Never Die, Live, and Love Me in Black. I usually try to only suggest one or two discs. However, I just simply cannot do that with DORO. I love it all.
