Can you possibly say anything negative about the USA's Mastodon? I think not, unless you just don't like Metal music, in which case you suck and probably don't belong on this Web site. Mastodon is hard to pigeonhole into a specific sub-genre. I guess they are a little Heavy Metal, Grindcore, Death Metal, Progressive, and Alt-Metal all rolled into one. These guys have put out a slew of EPs and singles since releasing their first demo in 2000, and an incredible breakthrough release, 'Leviathan', in 2004. Their latest release is a re-issue of the original demo songs from 2000, and the sound quality is far superior then the original.
