The Obsessed helped form what we now know as Stoner Rock today. They were very Doom sounding even back in the early 80s when most bands were trying to copy Zeppelin. The Obsessed started out in Washington D.C. in the early 80s; born out of the ashes of a band called Warhorse. Unfortunately, the music world wasn't ready for Doom-laden Stoner Rock and therefore, they never really got he chance they deserved. Their most commercially popular release, The Church Within was release in 94 on Columbia Records.
